The following requirements must be met to qualify for the BIA/HIP Program

1. Must live in a home within the Choctaw Nation 10 ½ county boundary. Service Area
2. Must possess a CDIB card.
3. Preference will be given to elderly (55 and older) and the handicapped. If handicapped, documentation must be provided.
4. Must have clear Warranty Deed in applicant’s name.
5. Must furnish proof of income. (Prior year Federal Income Tax return, SSI benefits statement, etc.)
6. Must furnish proof of limited financial resources.
7. Must have not received funds from BIA Housing Improvement Program after October 1, 1986, an applicant can only receive assistance one time under this program.
8. Must prove that you are ineligible for two (2) federally assisted Housing Improvement Programs. Example: Letter of denial from Bank, Farmers Home Administration, Housing Authority, etc.
9. HIP funds can no longer be used on HUD/IHA homes (Indian Homes).
10. Must provide proof of dependents (Social Security numbers)
